Description
Enjoy continental or cooked (farm fresh eggs) breakfast looking out to the lake. Plenty of large lawn areas and shady trees, roses and vegies (in season). Comfortable fresh, clean accommodation. Large patio for summer evenings and cool breezes on the verandahs, all rooms have ceiling fans and ducted air-conditioning. In winter you have cosy wood fires, doonas, blankets, dressing gowns and oil heater to warm the bedrooms. BYO wine and enjoy watching farm animals and wild birds. Guests from around the world and Perth have enjoyed and commented on the generous hospitality. Other meals by prior arrangement only with your hosts Reg and Veronica. Restaurant, hotel and cafe can all provide meals and are within a short 10 - 20 kilometre radius.
Begin with a spectacular sunset over the pine trees and lake followed by a starry night sky. Take a walk to see a mixture of Belted Galloway cattle, Dorper and Damara sheep, new calves born in October and November 2010, watch a goat or two or just enjoy the wildflowers at the rear of the property in spring. Tracks and trails lead around the perimeter of the farm or away from the farm for bushwalking and wilderness experiences. Use our binoculars or if you're an avid birdwatcher, bring yours along as the birdlife is plentiful. Carnaby cockatoos, Sacred Ibis, kookaburras, magpies and pink & grey galahs have just had babies in the trees near the house. You might hear an owl at night, mudlarks, cranes, spoonbills, a black swan or two, wild ducks, mountain ducks, cheeky willy wagtails, rosellas and others at different times of the year. Goannas are out and about so drive slowly down the long drive, please.
Feel free to bring your remote control boats, planes or cars or a kite and enjoy the open spaces in the paddocks or on the lakes. Stay a little longer and join Reg in singing or karaoke or if you would rather, have fun with the totem tennis, badminton set or a game of scrabble or cards.
