Description
Villa della Corona is an elegant and welcoming two-story historical villa surrounded by meadows and by green hills. It sleeps 12 people. It is appoximately 500 square meters (5380 square feet). It features a private swimming pool, a spacious private terrace, a private garden, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed), winter heating and WI-FI Internet access.
You will be roughly 2 km (1.2 miles) from San Miniato. You will find the closest restaurant and a grocery store at 1 km (roughly 1100 yards). You will reach Villa della Corona from the parking area along a short walkway that cuts through the garden.
To stay at Villa della Corona you will need a car. You will be able to park it on the premises, inside the entrance gate.
Villa della Corona is part of a group of buildings and lands on the “Bonaparte knoll”. Its name is due to the fact that was an ancient property of the Bonaparte’s family in San Miniato. It was the family of the most famous Napoleone.
In 1701 Maria Maddalena Bonaparte received it as a dowry going married in this year to a noble Bonaccorsi. In 1805 the country-house was given to the family of the present owners, maintaining the historical documentation and many furniture of the day.
Nowadays the property has been completely restored and it is an exclusive residence for those looking for an historical and relaxing holiday.
Plunged into a wonderful Tuscan landscape, the country-house is scattered on a “knoll” at the foot of the San Miniato’s hill, an historical village full of monuments and cultural activities, and famous for the production of the white truffle too.
Two floors, joined by a great central staircase, compose the house.
The large and elegant rooms make the atmosphere ideal for a comfortable and relaxing holiday.
Swimming Pool
The swimming pool is 7 meters (23 feet) large by 14 meters (46 feet) long, 1.5 meters (5 feet) deep. It has a whirlpool corner. The swimming pool area is equipped with chairs, sun umbrellas, deck chairs and sun loungers. The pool is open from mid-May until mid-September.
Garden
The garden is partly shaded by trees. From the garden you will have a pleasant view of the surrounding countryside.
Ground FloorTerrace
The terrace is 30 square meters (320 square feet) large. You will be able to enter it from the kitchen through a French door. It is equipped with a table, chairs and sun umbrellas. Here you will also find a brickwork barbecue. From the terrace you will enjoy a pleasant view of the surrounding countryside.
Living Room 1
You will be able to enter the first living room from the main entrance hall. The floor is paved with Tuscan terracotta tiles. The ceiling boasts a brick cross vault. The furnishings are elegant, and include some antique pieces. They include three sofas and armchairs. In this room you will find a satellite television. The room has two arched windows with a view of the garden. It is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Living Room 2
You will be able to enter the second living room from the corridor through an arched opening. The furnishings are comfortable. They include two sofas. There is a bog and age-old fireplace. The dining table can accommodate five guests. In this room you will find a satellite television. The room has two arched windows. It is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Dining Room
The furnishings of the dining room are elegant and refined, and include some antique pieces. The dining table can accommodate 12 guests. The room has two arched windows with a view of the garden. The room is equipped with an air conditioning/heating.
Study
You will be able to enter the study from the corridor. The floor is paved with terracotta tiles. The furnishings are classic, and include some antique pieces. They include two armchairs and a desk. The room is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Kitchen
You will be able to enter the kitchen from the dining room. It is well equipped, with a six-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, an Italian-style coffee-maker, an American-style coffee-maker (bring your filters!), a toaster and other small appliances. There is a table to seat six guests. From the kitchen a French door will take you to the terrace with a view of the swimming pool and of the garden. The kitchen is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
Half-bath
The half-bath is equipped with a washbasin and a toilet. You will be able to enter it from the second living room.
Laundry room
