Description
Appartamento Barchessa is a part of a big, luxury hystorical villa, wich
sleeps eight people. The Villa was built in '500. It
is surrounded by an historical park and it is located in the country side,
approximately 35 minutes from Venice by direct train.
At the villa
you will find air conditioning, winter heating, telephone, and if you are
bringing a Wi-Fi device you will be able to link to the Wi-Fi broadband Internet
connection.
Appartamento Barchessa is an independent wing of the villa. It is 400 square metres large (4300 square feet). It is built on two levels and has a
view of the garden. It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large living room
with a fireplace, a dining room, a drawing room and a kitchen.
The location
The villa lays in the middle of the southern Veneto region. This means being a few minutes away from all major interesting destinations in the area: Venice (35 minutes by direct train), Padua (40 mins by car) and Asolo (30 mins) aren’t far from the villa.
The history
This beautiful Palladian villa was built in the second half of the 16th century by one of the most powerful and noble families of Venice.
The residence has always been a private home, a place of glamour and elegance; always open to convivial pleasure and at the same time a warm welcoming home.
The Count and his family still live here now, happily opening its doors to those who wish to appreciate it’s refined splendor. During their stay, the guests will be able to visit all the main villa and the park, accompanied by the owners.
You will be able to spend your holiday in a unique and charming place. The villa is a beautiful and untouched example of renaissance architectural balance. The enormous 16th century complex in Palladian style is structured with a central main building which is flanked on both sides by arcaded wings (one of which houses the ‘Barchessa’ Apartment) which frame an ‘Italian style’ garden with a fountain, Greek mythical statues, flower beds, lawns and bushes.
The park
The park (70.000 square meters or 17 acres) is fully fenced and rich in wonderful plants and is pleasantly framed by long rows of hornbeams, lime trees and oak trees, which meet in front of a lovely dove cote, a chapel and a large fish pond with running water.
Other areas consist of woods with century old trees and numerous statues depicting realistic and fairy-like animals and humans. Going for a sunset stroll or for jogging in the early morning is like walking in heaven.
The private swimming pool and garden
Close to the main building, in a garden separated from the main park and reserved for the guests,
there is a swimming pool (9 x 6 m, 1,60 m deep, open May 1st through October 1st) surrounded by oleanders, roses and hydrangeas.
The garden is complimented by a patio, a wooden table, ten chairs, six deck-chairs and a barbeque/grill. A dressing room with pool towels (changed twice a week), extra chairs and a small refrigerator is accessible from the private garden.
Other amenities are a soccer field (inside the park) and three mountain bikes. There is an ample parking by the apartment entrance.
The apartment
Inside the left arcaded wing of the villa there you will find the independent ‘Barchessa’ apartment, which even in the past was reserved to welcoming guests.

Both the dining room and the hallway lead into the large living room, which has six windows on three sides and is furnished with a big sofa, two easy-chairs, four arm-chairs and a chaise lounger. This room is equipped with an open bar of spirits and liqueurs, TV, stereo CD and DVD player. Returning again to the landing, wooden stairs lead to the upper floor.

These two bedrooms share a bathroom (tub/fixed shower head) which is reached through the sitting room.
All the windows on the upper floor overlook the main Italian style garden and the villa’s façade.
Air conditioning has independent climate control in every bedroom
Furniture and objects belonging to the family since 16th century, which have been conserved over the times, period paintings, objets d’arts and new matching furnishing create a warm and welcoming ambience.
The apartment was restored and partially refurnished in 2004, the walls have original marble plaster surface and most rooms have parquet floor and plaster decorated ceilings, while the bathrooms are furnished with hand painted ‘Vietri’ tiles and high standard bath furniture.
